Lingerie Elastic

Sew Sassy Fabrics offers several styles of lingerie elastic. We have elastic that matches most colors of our T330 tricot. For the basic colors of black, white, and ivory, you have several choices - 5/8" foldover elastic, 3/8" picot edge elastic, and leg and waist knit picot edge elastic. Use our lingerie elastic, lingerie lace, stretch lace trim with our tricot fabric, sheer nylon fabric, sheer polyester fabric or any of our lingerie fabrics for your lingerie sewing projects. We have recently added a stretch elastic piping that can be used to finish any outside edges. It is especially nice for necklines and sleeve edges. The yardage selection box for each elastic starts with the minimum order for that elastic. You can save by buying 10 yards or a roll of an elastic.

Foldover Elastic (FOE)

What is foldover elastic? and what do I do with it? I assumed every one knew about foldover elastic and its function. Boy was I ever wrong. We have had many questions about this product. Foldover elastic has an indention down the center on one side of the elastic. This side has a matt finish and the other side has a shiny finish. Use the full width for the waistline of your panties. Apply the elastic for the leg openings like you would a bias tape. Using the guide line of the indention on the elastic, stitch on the backside of the opening with a zig zag stitch. Then fold over the elastic to the front encasing the opening. Zig zag the edge on the front side and you have an exact color match with your waist and leg elastic. This can also be used to encase outside edges for necklines in lingerie, bras, tee shirts, and baby clothes. FOE can be used instead of ribbing to give your clothes that ready-to-wear look. Many of our customers use our FOE for making baby headbands. It is also widely used in baby diapers.

These are first quality products. This elastic is put up in a box folded in 12" lengths. This allows the garment sewer to apply the elastic to the product without tangling as it is applied to the garment. This elastic will have a very small indention where it was folded. The indention will not show after the elastic has been applied to your garment.
