| Sew Sassy Fabrics offers fold over elastic in many colors and several widths. Our customers use fold over elastic both for making lingerie and for baby headband elastic.

What is fold over elastic? and what do I do with it? I assumed every one knew about fold over elastic and its function. Boy was I ever wrong. We have had many questions about this product. Fold over elastic has an indention down the center on one side of the elastic. Use the full width for the waistline of your panties. Apply the elastic for the leg openings like you would a bias tape. Using the guide line of the indention on the elastic, stitch on the backside of the opening with a zig zag stitch. Then fold over the elastic to the front encasing the opening. Zig zag the edge on the front side and you have an exact color match with your waist and leg elastic.
FOE can also be used to encase outside edges for necklines in lingerie, bras, tee shirts, and baby clothes. Fold over elastic can be used instead of ribbing to give your clothes that ready-to-wear look. Many of our customers use our FOE as headband elastic for making baby headbands. Our clear bra slides can be used to make the headbands adjustable. Some of our customers use narrow stretch lace trim for making baby headbands. Fold over elastic is also widely used in baby diapers.
